There was a picture years ago, where leadership was at the top, the manager in the middle and all the staff on the bottom- I called it the Hour Glass Manager. In theory it made sense, gave everyone an expectation of the flow of communication and allowed a clear understanding of roles. However, it doesn't work and the reason it doesn’t work is because it is a bottleneck. It greatly reduces the flow of information, it increases the frustration of the organization as they wait for a message to pass through one individual. But that is not the only reason why it doesn’t work. Take a look at your organization- do you have Hour Glass roles? How much pressure is placed on one role? Is this a feasible approach? How often is that role being recruited?
Through my work with many organizations I have come to understand that Role Review is one of the most overlooked aspects of a team. We assume that we will do things the same way each time, without recognizing the growth in our individuals. Our biggest fault is assuming things are status quo. So how can you train, retain and create avenues of career growth within your organization?

        Strategic PlanningThis package includes two 3 hour sessions with 10 participants, and involves looking at a 5 year snap shot with goals, mileposts for tracking and staggered completions to allow for allocation of resources. Members engagement will be both team and individual based through in-person and virtual exercises.

        Team BuildingThis package involves understanding where your team focus is headed, and determining how it aligns with the organizational goals. Many of us need to reaffirm our common language, and restart conversations based on inclusivity and solution-based ideas. Think of this package as an injection of enthusiasm and renewal for your group. This package starts as a 3 hour session with a pre-survey delivered through email to tailor the session.

        Transitioning RolesHave you recently transitioned into a managerial, supervisory or other leadership role? Do you find yourself unsure where to turn for advice? This can often be a lonely time as you find your new reporting lines and establish boundaries with colleagues. It can often wear down our emotions as we examine our new role and responsibilities, and validate that all things must and are changing. During these one-on-one sessions I will guide your growth in your new role, and show areas to build confidence and commitment. Sessions are 30 min, with the average individual booking 3 sessions to start and can be done virtually or in-person.

        Lunch and LaunchDo you have a new project and/or initiative and you don’t know how to get started? Would you like to have an engaged brainstorming session? Typically when gathered around food the ideas and jovial conversations start to flow. Allow me to capture the ideas as they flow, and develop your Launch Strategy for success. This package (for 10 people) includes a 75 min lunch (food provided), and a 60 min virtual or in-person session to confirm roles and responsibilities, review timelines and schedule project review.

        Barrier BurnoutIs your team up against a barrier? Have you looked at all possible ideas and still little to any movement? Let's examine the barrier and create a conversation without a “filter” too often we are thinking of the limitations and we need to think out of the box. Let me help get the conversation going in a novel way and see if we can shake loose some new framework for a unique approach. This package is 2 one-hour in-person sessions that involve a lot of movement- you can leave your computer/phone behind as we create moving dialogue within the team.
